Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos’ tenure as head coach has been lauded and his management skills have been tipped to help the side reclaim its glory days.
Despite a pending case over the poor officiating incidents that happened in the Ghana v South Africa game that happened in Cape Coast last Sunday, Bafana Bafana legend mark Fish has praised the team and the coach for their brave fight.
“I think he is doing well and players are doing extremely well, I’m very impressed with the coach throughout the qualifiers,” Fish said in a recent interview.
Fish believes that Broos’ management is actually what the country needs at the moment, especially because he tries to make sure they live a certain lifestyle that can protect them off the field too.
“He has been taking about things we’ve been wanting to hear from national team coach, not even about on the field issues, the reality of life and how players should live,” he continued.
“Like when he spoke about players having different girlfriends, he is getting into players’ heads on and off the field as well, if a coach does that, he creates a national team that will see players respecting the flag.”
Given the way the team has been playing, Fish his confident that this current class of players can replicate the heroics of 96 and end the trophy drought.
“Let’s have a team that qualifies for everything and win African Cup of Nations because we tired of talking about the class of 96. In this generation I’m proud of this and it gives us pride as a nation.”
