Kaizer Chiefs have detailed a response to their supporters, claiming they have made wholesome changes at the club. However, the Soweto giants have called for patience as they claim the effects of those changes would not be overnight.
This is in response to the fans that made a march to the club’s headquarters, while offering the management a 12- point memorandum. It came after another poor outing for Amakhosi this term. For emphasis on how far they’ve fallen, the Glamour Boys have not won silverware since the departure of Stuart Baxter in 2015. The only gloss to their current season is that they managed to reach the semifinals of the CAF Champions League for the first time in their history.
Kaizer Chiefs replied briefly last month, but have now followed that up with an extensive reply, though it is still rather vague.

Restore the club’s playing philosophy
The club has been working on restructuring the institution’s football and technical operations to ensure that our identity and philosophy are consolidated, preserved, and strengthened.
A squad overhaul
We will continue to work to secure quality players and build depth. We also commit to continue with our successful programme of promoting talent from within our Youth Development structures, mentored by the more experienced players.
Development vision
Being the only Club from Southern Africa remaining in the competition reaffirms our vision which includes success on the African continent and the world.
Working relationship with PSL clubs
Over the years, Kaizer Chiefs has developed and nurtured strong, healthy, and cooperative relationships with all football bodies and our competitors.
Solid scouting network
We recently appointed Head of Technical and Youth Development (Molefi Ntseki) who together with his team will be custodians of our football philosophy. His role will be to champion this important mission.
Develop players for overseas market
The reserve league is an important source of recruiting players for the first team and possibly for the European market.
Women’s football
Jessica Motaung was part of the team that helped draft the strategy for CAF to develop women’s football on the continent and this is an indication of our intention to play a role in this exciting development.
Chairman’s columns
Consideration will be given to reviving some of the aspects of the Chairman’s direct communications channels.
Prioritise football department, not marketing
Football will always be our core focus however other functions such as Marketing, Retail, Finance, IT, and HR are key to the successful management of the Club
We will continue to fulfill on this mandate while we work collaboratively to support the performance on the pitch.
Appoint a CEO or general manager
The corporate structure and needs of the club are best determined by the leadership of chairman Kaizer Motaung and the board.

We will continue to look at ways of honoring our legends and involving them in many of our activities.
