Victor Letsoalo is not yet a household name in South Africa, but the forward is certainly inching his way there. He has a quality and talent that puts him in the category of players that should be well known and talked about.
Time is not Letsoalo’s friend, and the lines have to fall in place for him quickly. Things are, however, looking up for the South African forward, who is attracting serious interest from the big teams.
Jerry Sikhosana praised Letsoalo but believes he needs a bigger platform. The Orlando Pirates legend said a move is inevitable if Letsoalo wants to be a household name in South Africa.
With Kaizer Chiefs keen on the 28-year-old, Orlando Pirates are working behind the scenes to beat the Amakhosi to his signature. Both teams are looking to add to the firepower they boast.
Ahead of a potential January move, the two Soweto giants have been in contact with the player. Letsoalo has scored six goals this season, including an assist. Starring for new boys Royal AM, Letsoalo’s contributions has come in the ten matches he has played this season.
Sikhosana said that what Letsoalo is doing at Royal AM has been noticed, and with the Bafana Bafana that he is doing well.
“I think he might do well, but you know sometimes football is cruel as you can predict a good player going to a big club, only to find that player fumbles or disappoints. Let’s hope it won’t be the same with Victor Letsoalo.
Sikhosana further stressed that for Letsoalo to be recognized, he needs to leave his mark on one of the big clubs.
“If you want to be recognized, you need to make your mark at one of the big clubs. When supporters start talking about you, it means you’re on the right track.
“I hope he can follow suit and become one of the best.”
