Orlando Pirates, based in Houghton, Johannesburg, is the second oldest football club in South Africa.

What began in Orlando East as Orlando Boys Club – a social soccer club for the children of migrant workers on the gold mines – soon grew to become one of the most successful and most followed football clubs in the country. The ‘Soweto Derby’ played between Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs is one of the most hotly contested and watched derbies in the world.

The Buccaneers are also one of only two South African soccer teams to have won the CAF Champions League.
