Orlando Pirates continued their winless run in the DStv Premiership after playing a 1-1 draw with Royal AM on Thursday evening.
The Buccaneers made four changes with Tshegofatso Mabasa, Abel Mabaso, Bongani Sam and Olisa Ndah all recalled after the win over Diables Noirs on Sunday.
Mabasa missed a great chance to give Pirates the lead inside the opening five minutes after being sent clear by Fortune Makaringe, but he sent his shot wide with only goalkeeper Hugo Nyame to beat.
The hosts almost went behind in the 20th minute after Victor Letsoalo raced through on goal and went down inside the box in a tussle with Happy Jele but the referee waved play on.
The Soweto giants were eventually punished in the 32nd minute as miscommunication between Jele and goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane allowed Levy Mashiane to poke home into an empty net.
However, Linda Mntambo restored parity for Pirates on the stroke of halftime with a sumptuous strike from the right flank that looped over Nyame and dipped into the top corner.
The battle between Letsoalo and Jele continued early in the second stanza but it was the Pirates skipper, who had to be taken off the pitch with an injury after a tackle by the Bafana Bafana striker.
Mabasa had another big chance just after the hour-mark after he was set up by Bandile Shandu unmarked at the near post but his attempted back-heel that was well saved by Nyame.
After that miss, Mabasa was taken off and was replaced immediately by Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah.
With the match evenly balanced, Thwihli Thwahla made some attacking changes in the final quarter, as Ndumiso Mabena replaced Mashiane against his former side but neither side could find a winner in the end.
Pirates have now gone four games without a win, while Jele was also pictured in crutches in the stands following his departure in the second half.
