We take a look at some of the top transfer rumors that made the rounds over the weekend.
Reports have linked Sundowns with a move for a Slovakian striker while Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be closing in on a deal for an Amazulu star.
Kaizer Chiefs edge closer to Sibusiso Mabiliso swoop
According to reports, sources claim that Sibusiso Mabiliso is intent on a move to Gauteng and could sign with Kaizer Chiefs ahead of next season.
The 22-year-old is yet to come to an agreement regarding a contract extension at Usuthu and has been credibly linked with a move to Naturena.
“Chiefs have approached Mabiliso regarding his situation at AmaZulu. He is willing to move but also not ruling out any chances to extend his stay in Durban. Anything can happen, but as it stands his next destination is at Naturena” a source was quoted to have said.
Sundowns close in on Safranko deal
Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly closing in on a move to sign Slovakian striker Pavol Safranko.
Safranko is a 26-year-old forward, who currently plies his trade Romanian club Sepsi OSK. He has been described as having similar attributes to Kaizer Chiefs star Samir Nurkovic and has that extra pace that could see him become a menace upfront.
Sepsi general director Attila Hadnagy has simply said Safranko would be joining “the richest club in South Africa” and that alone tells a story.
The transfer fee agreed is reportedly in excess of R13 million.
Cape Town City confirm player departure
Cape Town City have confirmed goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh will join Eredivisie side FC Groningen after the end of the season.
“Cape Town City and Dutch Eredivisie side FC Groningen have agreed to terms over the transfer of goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh,” the club statement read.
“Leeuwenburgh will spend the rest of the season with the Citizens and finish off our 2020/21 campaign.”
Since he joined from Ajax Amsterdam, Leeuwenburgh has starred 85 times for Cape Town City, winning the MTN8 in his stint at the club.
Parker aims to finish career with Chiefs
Bernard Parker has expressed a desire to end his playing career at Kaizer Chiefs, which means he could be hanging up his boots very soon.
Despite scoring a crucial goal during the Caf Champions League group stage, Parker’s contributions have waned off of late and it has been reported he could be released come the end of the season.
However, it remains unclear what the Chiefs intend to do with their once star player.
