Feutmba explains what made Khama Billiat quit international football

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Khama Billiat announced his retirement from international football recently and Roger Feutmba has decided to share his thoughts on the news.

Billiat has been a key member for Zimbabwe over the last decade and he shockingly announced his retirement from international football last Sunday.

His country failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup playoffs and Feutmba believes that the Amakhosi star took the decision based on performance.

“Khama Billiat has done well in football, I think frustrations of not doing well in the national team might have forced him to retire,” Feutmba said in a recent interview.

Zimbabwe experienced a poor run in the qualifiers, and Feutmba expects Billiat to reconsider his decision once everything is back to normal, including his perfomances at Chiefs which has also been frustrating.

“But I think he will reconsider the decision. He may return to the Zimbabwe national team because his decision is based on frustration.. on what is going well in their national team. He is still young.”

“Also, he hasn’t been having a good time at Kaizer Chiefs too. So I feel that the decision was made to take one pressure off his shoulders. I’m definitely sure he may make a U-turn probably next year, because things may change in their squad,” he added.
