Chippa United’s caretaker Kurt Lentjies will have plenty to think about by the time he leads the side out for their first game against Baroka FC on Saturday.
Lentjies is the club’s latest appointment by boss Siviwe Mpengesi all through the club’s lifespan in the PSL thus far.
The 36-year-old, who is in his first year as a coach, will be assisted by Siyabulela Gwambi. Lentjies is the seventh coach that has taken charge of training at Chippa this year in the comedy show unraveling at the club.
It was Dan Malesela in charge when the year began, but he was sacked in April after his fourth stint at the club. Gwambi was asked to take charge for three games after the attempt to get Luc Eymael failed.
Vladislav Heric then returned to the side and took charge of just six games before he was also shown the door with Lehlohonolo Seema in charge for the rest of the season before he left for Golden Arrows.
Former Kaizer Chiefs boss Gavin Hunt was then appointed at the beginning of the season but after just a solitary win thus campaign, he was shown the door too.
According to the club, Hunt has been placed on precautionary suspension following a horrible start. Also suspended is Hunt’s men Ian Taylor and Roy Limongelli.
The club’s statement also says Lentjies has now retired though he has featured in six games this season, including the club’s last game against Maritzburg United nine days ago.
