Orlando Pirates coach Mandla Ncikazi says, if necessary, his side will rather lose its clean sheets in matches in order to earn maximum points.
It has become a worry for both Ncikazi and fellow coach Fadlu Davids as the club continues to struggle to convert their chances created in games.
The Buccaneers are averaging a goal per game, having scored 11 times in their opening 11 matches this season.
“One of us is going to have a heart attack very soon – hopefully not. It’s frustrating, but again, as a coach you have to see light where everyone else sees darkness. We have to be there for the players and try to find solutions of trying to solve this problem,” Ncikazi told the club’s media department after the match.
The Bucs gaffer says that his side is willing to concede goals if it means that Pirates will find the back of the net more frequently.
“I think we have a capacity to solve it, we must solve it soon. The next match is just here, Stellenbosch, not an easy match away but we have to put the ball in the net, even if it means the score is 4-3 but as long as Pirates have scored more than the opponents, I think that’s important,” he added.
Pirates are struggling for form at the moment, with only one win in their last five games. They are already falling off the place as they already find themselves a whopping 11 points behind PSL leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
