Transfer News: Chippa United make another key signing

Chippa United have confirmed that former Bafana Bafana winger, Luyolo Nomandela has joined the club from BCM.

Nomandela signed a two-year contract with Chilli Boys and will be part of the squad in the remaining games of the 2020/2021DStv Premiership.

In a statement on their official Twitter account, Chippa said they have added more depth to their ranks.

“We are pleased to have beefed up our squad with another player of talent and experience.”

“Luyolo will also play an integral role in our squad for the remainder of the 2020/21 South African football campaign.”

The former Mamelodi Sundowns winger is the first player the club signed following the arrival of new manager Luc Eymael.

Nomandela will be available immediately for selection and could make his debut against Sundowns at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London on Monday.

Chippa United are currently 14th on the DStv Premiership table with 17 points from 21 games.

However, they are on poor form at the moment, without a win in any of their last seven league games so far.

They suffered a 5-1 trouncing in their last league game against Maritzburg which prompted the sacking of Dan Malesela.

This move comes less than 24 hours since the club confirmed the appointment of Elymael as their new head coach.

A statement read on Monday: “Chippa United Football Club would like to announce that it has reached an amicable decision to part ways with Dan Malesela, with this decision effective immediately.

“We would like to thank Mr Malesela for his contribution to the club and to wish him well in his future endeavours.”

“Siyabulela Gwambi, the side’s assistance coach, will take over the head coach responsibilities on an interim basis. “

“We would like to wish him well on this appointment, where the club objectives are on improving the current DStv Premiership log standings and on also reaching the prestigious Nedbank Cup final.”

“The club has also appointed well-travelled Belgian, Luc Eymael, in a Technical Advisor role where he will play an integral mentorship role for the technical team. Mr Gwambi, who is from Zwide, has been a part of the club coaching structures since 2015.

“He was promoted to the senior team having coached in the team’s youth structures and the Diski Challenge team. It is the club’s intent to have Mr Eymael forming part of the technical team.
