Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila midfielder Miguel Timm is already attracting interest from a number of top sides in the country. It is only a matter of time before he becomes one of the most wanted prospects among PSL sides, says former Kaizer Chiefs assistant boss Farouk Khan.
Following a brilliant campaign for TTM, the midfielder has been one of the standout names for the club and is already on the radar of Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, as per latest reports.
Miguel Timm has featured in 17 games for Tshakuma and has been an ever-present name in their midfield. He also starred in Sunday’s Nedbank Cup semifinal win over Mamelodi Sundowns and continues to earn raves from pundits and fans alike.
Speaking in a recent interview, renowned youth coach and former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Farouk Khan has revealed the unique traits that Timm would add to one of the top sides if he goes on to make a move.
“The first thing is his playing intelligence. You know often you find players that can play bit they play with their feet and not with their brains and today the game has evolved to a level where, yes, your talent is important but your ability to read any situation in the game is of utmost importance. Because of the lack of space and time, players have to make decisions within microseconds and Miguel is that type of player because he sees things even before it happens. (That) excites me as a coach when I look at him, because he’s able to make those decisions within split seconds when he makes those passes,” Khan said.
If that isn’t enough, Khan named some legendary footballers in the mix while adding in detail about Timm’s footballing intelligence.
“If you look at a player that can play those defence-splitting passes, there’s quite a few in world football but to name a few it is your Xavi and Iniesta players. This is similar to Miguel when it comes to playing intelligence, but I am not comparing him to these players. So not only does he have playing intelligence, but he also has vision and technical ability. His passing, short, even long-range passing ability is also something that he has. While he is not the quickest player, but because of his intelligence and social awareness he makes decisions in a short period, so you don’t need to be that quick if you are quick in decision making.”
