Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin hunt has made some comments about the three Amakhosi players who were confirmed to have been recalled by the club from Swallows FC earlier this season.
The Soweto side had confirmed that Itumeleng Shopane, Ayanda Rorwana, Sizwe Twala, and Given Thibedi have extended their loan deals at Swallows for another season before this season began.
Meanwhile, Swallows chairman David Mogashoa was quoted to have said that Shopane, Rorwana, and Twala were recalled by Amakhosi in November, while Thibedi decided to stay back with the Birds.
It has led to conflicting reports on the players over recent months and it remained to be seen which party was telling the truth.
However, the Chiefs gaffer has decided to exempt himself from the whole drama, stating that he is not the one who recalled the players and that they have not been back at the club since it was confirmed.
“No, I never (called them back). The club never called them back. They never came back once. If a player walked in front of me, I don’t even know what they look like. They were never here,” Hunt told the media.
The club has since confirmed that Rorwana is at GladAfrica Championship side Pretoria Callies, while Shopane and Twala are training with Amakhosi’s reserve team.
Since making the move to Pretoria Callies on loan in February, Rorwana has seen a total of 174 minutes on the pitch across all competitions. Surprisingly, all of those appearances only came in the Nedbank Cup.
Given that Pretoria Callies are still somewhat in a battle to avoid the drop, one would imagine that they won’t experiment at this stage of the season and most likely stick to their best possible starting XI at all times.
