Newly promoted Sekhukhune United are looking to emulate Swallows FC in the DStv Premiership, according to midfielder Nkanyiso Madonsela.
Babina Noko have made a decent start to their debut campaign in the top-flight having bounced back from the opening day defeat to Chippa United, by defeating Maritzburg United 2-0 last week.
Madonsela revealed that their promotion was a product of good governance and unity from the players, which is something they want to retain in the DStv Premiership this season.
“I can tell you that Sekhukhune is well managed, it was very for us as players to spend one season in the GladAfrica Championship and win it, when a team has a good management, it’s so easy for players to fight and win something,” Madonsela said while speaking in a recent interview.
“We’ve never doubted ourselves from day one, the spirit has been high from day one and we never looked back from that 4-0 win against Royal Eagles in the GladAfrica Championship, we play as unity and we fight for each other and we still doing it even in the DSTV Premiership.”
Madonsela also feels Babina Noko are capable of replicating Swallows’ feat, who finished sixth in their debut season in the top-flight last term.
“I do believe that we have a capability to emulate Swallows and finish in the top eight in our debut DSTV Premiership season. We can do that because our mentality hasn’t changed, we believe that talent alone it not enough, I’m pretty sure that we will do well,” he added.
“We have a good board and technical team even the new players come with massive experience and with what we have, this team won’t just add numbers but will fight for better and greater things.”
