Ruzaigh Gamildien

Transfer News – Kazier Chiefs still intent on signing Moroka Swallows forward Ruzaigh Gamildien

Just last week, reports emerged about Kazier Chiefs’ interest in the signature of Swallows forward Ruzaigh Gamildien. It appears there might be an update on those links.

Amakhosi are reportedly planning a massive overhaul as they look to part with players who are out of contract as well as those who are no longer in the club’s plans.

As part of Gavin Hunt’s restructuring plans, Chiefs are looking to bolster their attacking options and the club has show interest in Ruzaigh ahead of next season.

Elsewhere, Amakhosi are also interested in Swallows defender Njabulo Ngcobo. The defender has been one of the shining lights for Swallows this term. Overall, he is up there as one of the best centre-halves in the PSL this term.

Would a potential transfer make sense for the Swallows?

For starters, both clubs have good transfer relationship between themselves and that could come in handy.

It’s been reported that Swallows are keen to make Given Thibedi’s loan move from Amakhosi into a permanent move. The midfielder has also impressed for the Dube Birds and talks are already ongoing regarding a permanent deal.

In a move that could suit both parties, Thibedi could be used as part of a swap deal that will see Gamildien go the other way. However, some sources have claimed Chiefs would still have to substantiate the move with some cash if this were to happen.

Amakhosi might have some upper hand with the view that they are ready to let a good number of their players leave come the end of the season. Some of those players could easily be welcomed at Swallows.

It is important to note that Chiefs’ interest in Gamildien is one harbored by the club and not coach Gavin Hunt himself. In fact, the manager’s future at the club is in major doubt if he doesn’t turn around the club’s form between now and the end of the season.

Regardless, Brandon Petersen, Phathutshedzo Nange, Sifiso Hlanti and Kgaogelo Sekgota will all join Chiefs next season once their transfer ban by FIFA is lifted, with more signings expected as well.

Gamildien could well be one of those signings but Chiefs will have to offer something substantial to Swallows if they are to convince them to let their star striker leave. It would be interesting to see what happens with the player by end of the season.
